Ready for Halloween!!

I've not been much of a Betty Crocker and usually find it easier to buy snacks then to make them myself. But lately, I've had an adventurous and brave streak come over me...with the help of all the creative ideas online. See below the cupcakes I made for my boys to take to school...

You can make these several different ways, what I done was...baked the new chocolate cupcakes that have the creme in the  middle; cut the mini-marshmallows in half (this helps them to stick to the cupcakes better);  I had originally bought a can of icing that had the tips with it BUT when I tried it, the icing came out too thick so I used the zip-loc bag trick to create the skeletons; And then sprinkled a little bit of powdered sugar on the cupcakes to give it that extra touch.
This is the finished product. I placed the cupcakes into small plastic cups. Then placed them in a goody bag and tied with a ribbon. The cups are a great way for the little ones to be able to carry them home without completely destroying them.
Now, if only I had a solution for 2 kids to get 60 cupcakes to school in one piece!

Family Pics!

In over 4 years we have had 2 snapshots as a family so I warned them about a week ago to get pumped because we would be doing family pictures this weekend. I had my best friend come along with us and snap some shots. And this is my family...my life...

Getting Started!

So, a little over a week ago I had this desire to sketch something out and paint it on canvas. The last time I had done any type of painting was as a child, so I had low expectations of what my final product would look like but thought I would give it a whirl and try something new!!
Here is my sketch...

And here is my finished canvas...

This is in honor of my Aunt DeeDee Schalk who was diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer in the Spring of 2009. My initial thought was to do a canvas using the word 'Hope', but I feel that 'Faith' is a better description for my Aunt. Her faith is like none other and is such an inspiration to experience.

If you would like to donate to the Susan G. Komen, Walk For Schalk team, you can do so by visiting my team page.
Please keep my Aunt in your prayers along with every other Survivor!

Sooo...what's going to be my next project?!?!

A.) Alabama 'Roll Tide' (Family's favorite college team)
B.) Plainview Bears (Kids' school team)
